Synopsis
In Austin, TX, a local community organization and residents are working alongside researchers from University of Texas to place sensors to collect data on heat. As a part of a two year project, residents, scientists, and city staff are collaborating to map extreme heat. This project peers into a microcosm of the moments where interpretation, facts, and experience collide: what is data, and what is perception? What happens when community perception and data cannot agree? And why does this happen in the first place?
